Let’s Get Started
Healthcare is Evolving
You know you need professional liability insurance, but what about the rest? You worked hard to build your reputation and create financial security. Let’s make sure they’re protected.
- Medical Directorship: Coverage for activities related to Medical Directorship duties. Many contracts with nursing homes, skilled nursing facilities, etc. don’t provide coverage for their Medical Directors.
- Cyber Liability: Coverage for data security and privacy issues related to employee and patient information and technology.
- Administrative Defense: Coverage for defense of regulatory risks such as medical board allegations or hospital disciplinary actions.
- Employment Practices Liability Insurance (aka EPLI): Coverage for the “-isms” related to hiring, firing, and employment, such as sexism, racism, and ageism.
- Directors & Officers Liability Insurance (aka D&O): Coverage for claims made against directors and officers while serving on a board of directors and/or as an officer.
- Billing Errors & Omissions (aka Billing E&O): Coverage for defense and fines associated with billing error proceedings such as allegations of Medicare or Medicaid fraud, qui tam, etc.
- Vicarious Liability (VL): Coverage for other providers (usually 10-99 independent contractors) who work for you and carry their own med mal insurance. VL covers you and/or your entity if you’re sued because of something the other provider does on your behalf.
- Entity Coverage: Coverage for your professional entities including personal S-corps used for billing.

The Team
We are proud to be a third-generation family-run brokerage specializing in medical professional liability insurance from the very start. Mike, Hannah, and Faith are a father-daughter broker team who collectively have over 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry. We start every morning with coffee and a video call to discuss the day, and every call gets routed to our cell phones. We strive to always be readily accessible and highly knowledgeable.
L&J was founded in 1985 by Mike’s parents and Hannah and Faith’s grandparents, Lillian (the “L”) and Jack (the “J”). Lillian was an OR nurse turned risk manager, and Jack was a retired Hewlett Packard executive. L&J’s roots were always in physician offices. When conducting risk management services, many of Lillian’s clients began asking for help with placing their medical malpractice insurance. Eventually, finding insurance for physicians with unique stories and practice profiles became their full-time focus. And so L&J was born.
